"After departing from a airport in Gabon (which was not to shabby) I arrived in Malabo, an unusual city where the rich live on one side guarded by thick steel-iron gates and ever-present bodyguards, while others live in poverty. I arrived at Malabo International Airport and went straight to the booking department. The lady spoke French which was a good thing since these people speak only French and Spanish. She was in her 20s, just like the other staff and was helpful in showing me where different things were and actually gave me a map of the airport. As I went towards the Security counters, a Military officer told me my flight was cancelled due to warfare raging in the western parts and that I could run for the border or sleep here. I decided to sleep their and I was given a sleeping bag by one of the Military guys. All was good until, I was awoken at 3:45 AM by a hobo who looked at me like I was food. He began saying things like "Food me want!" and "Money Give Give Lots Of Money Me Give Want." in French. As I decided enough was enough, I got up and booked another flight which would depart in an hour. The airport was in 24 hour semi-working conditions. I went towards the bathrooms and found about 80 people jammed into a small place. When I got my turn, I closed the door and I swear I had met the dirtiest toilet in the world! It had slime and poop and piss all over! Anyways, when my turn came I was searched and I was taken into a small room with little light. A soldier poked me with what looked like an AK-47 and told me to hand over a "Foreigner Fee" their version of a bribe. I told the guy NO! and actually ran out of the room and charged the security (seriously I had to). When I boarded my plane their were only 15 people on board. The plane took off and finally landed in Kenya. Thankfully, Kenya wasn't this bad!"
