Manama Airport
Lasting Impressions....
Memorable comments left by travellers:
"No seats, shouting, pushing, shoving - worse even than the China-HK border on Christmas Day." (krys_k)
"we went straight to the pub which is without a doubt the best place to relax in this airport. It is behind a non-de script unmarked door(there are no signs that say, "the bar is this way" in a muslim country)." (?)
"Whenever at Bahrain airport you will encounter droves of either overly excited Indian screaming as their friends/relatives arrive or witness overall emotional good byes. (Adrian Newark)

This is the last place in the GCC which is not all bling (...read DUBAI)or just too drab to be from this millenium. Just no nonsense airport, check in, usual duty free...and nice bar and no walking 15km to get on and off a plane....
That said, this place has no sleeping options.the seats are hard plastic slippery things, you feel like you're sitting on one of 'em playgrund slides. Then the place gets filled with Bangladeshis(I actually witnessed a 16 seater van filled up arriving just to recieve one person. ) Pakistanis Indians and Philipinos...there is no way you can find a place to sit, lest strtch out whne the flights from kochi or karachi come in.
Its in the news they are going to build one new terminal...until then, i would rather sleep at a hotel than 'stand' out the night at Bah. Intl

"The worst airport i have ever been to. About a million people squished into the terminal. No seats, shouting, pushing, shoving - worse even than the China-HK border on Christmas Day.Were it not for the fact that i had managed to scam an upgrade from BKK for the first leg of my journey, and talked my way into the 1st class lounge, i would have had one of the worst overnight experiences of my life. Avoid this bedlam at all costs!"s
